Mental Health Concepts Prerequisite: BIOH 201, CHMY 121, WRIT 101, M 115 or accepted substitution and acceptance into the Registered Nursing ASN. Coorequisites: NRSG 255.In this course, the student focuses on the nursing concepts utilizing basic human needs, developmental theory, nursing process, therapeutic communication, and nursing interventions to promote and maintain health for clients and families experiencing mental-health issues. The student will examine client responses to stressors across the life span. Tasks of biological-behavioral concepts in psychosocial nursing care, rural and cultural impacts will be addressed. |
