Adult Nursing I Prerequisite(s): BIOH 201, CHMY 121, M 140, WRIT 101 or an acceptable substitution and acceptance into the Registered Nursing (ASN) program.Coreequisite(s): NRSG 235This course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Foundations of Nursing, and places them in the context of patient-centered care. Social, cultural, ethical, rural and legal issues, end-of-life and palliative care across diverse adult populations are introduced. Health promotion and prevention throughout the adult lifespan, with specific focus on the geriatric patient, is emphasized. Normal aging, health alterations associated with aging, and their implications are addressed. |
