Forensic Science II Prerequisite: a grade of "C" or better in CHMY 280. This course is a presentation of the techniques, skills, and limitations of the modern crime laboratory, including ancillary services, and an introduction to instrumentation, including GC, GCMS, FTIR, NMR, and electrophoresis. Topics include questioned document analysis, toxicology, controlled substances, biological fluids and stains, DNA, fire and explosion investigation, computer crime, and vehicular accident reconstruction. Includes guest speakers, field trips and laboratory work. |
