Checkering Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Firearms Finishing program or instructor's consent.This course will cover layout and hand-cutting of a standard point pattern. The emphasis will be on construction of templates with layout and checkering of flat and curved surfaces. Cradle design and adjustment to gain positive results will be covered. Layout and cutting of more advanced fleur-de-lis patterns are also covered. Also included are re-cutting of existing patterns and repair of damaged checkering. Staining and finishing of completed work are covered with an emphasis on professional results. | |||||||
