AC Measurements: Lab Prerequisite(s): ELCT 102.Corequisite(s): ELCT 212 and ELCT 213 must be taken concurrently.This lecture/lab course consists of a series of experiments to investigate the characteristics of single-phase and three-phase electrical circuits. The connections and testing of transformers in both single-phase and three-phase configurations are stressed. Students also learn the operation of three phase motors from conventional sources and phase converters, with an emphasis on efficiency, operating characteristics and connections.Note: This course can be taken face-to-face as a 3-credits lecture/lab (ELCT 211) or online as a 2-credit lecture (ELCT 212) and a 1-credit lab (ELCT 213). |
