Fabrication Basics I Corequisite(s): WLDG 111 and M 114 or instructor's consent.This course covers basic fabrication techniques as they relate to product manufacturing, maintenance and repair. Topics presented include bending, forming, shearing, punching operations. Emphasis is placed on welding with the FCAW (Dual Shield) method. This course also covers thermal torch cutting (i.e. hand held plasma and oxy-fuel). Students will be able to perform proficiency within these cutting methods and describe the pros and cons of each method. |
