Introduction to Computers This course takes as its starting point the proposition that technology is central to the modern world as one of the primary tools impacting communication, learning, and advancement. Students will learn the driving principles behind computer systems, become familiar with influencing computer hardware, software, and network technology. Students will examine the management of information and material in word processors, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as the implication and safeguards for that information. The ethical implications of computing, such as security, privacy, patriot act, identity theft, and the social implications of information sharing will be given particular consideration. |
